Sometimes when writing one of my novels I have to create a story within a story.  There’s the ghost story Annie tells Hazel, Tina and Rosie in ‘Annie’, the cautionary tale Roisin gives Hazel in ‘Rachel’ or the various historic documents I wrote for ‘History Girls’.  But my new book, ‘Debbie’s Gift’ took this to a whole new level.  One of the book’s story threads sees Hazel and her friend Aimee engaged by a film company to do design work on a horror film.  I can’t say I’m much of a horror fan, personally.  I like Ahh films, romantic comedies, but there you go.  For the new book though, I’ve had to write a complete scenario for the movie and now that I have, I’m rather pleased with it.  I think it might actually be a film worth making.
